Home Grown
On Sunday I made this reversible apron for a gift. |
Weekend in the yard
I made a new strawberry bed in a sunnier spot. So Saturday I moved my strawberry plants to their new bed. I dug garlic, tie up my tomatoes, can beans, and managed to do laundry. I listen to Comfort Food on my I pod while I worked, great day. A mild weekend weather wise it may have gotten to 80 on Saturday but I don't think so, and Sunday cooler yet.

Day off in Glacier Park
I took a day off in the middle of the week and went hiking. I advice everyone to do this. We hiked to Piegan Pass and across to Many Glacier hotel. Perfect day.
Good time with Good friends
Camp Mak-A-Dream is a camp for kids and others who are dealing from cancer. Our daughter worked and volunteered there for 3 summers, that is how we became familiar with camp. There was a fishing tournament held as a fund raiser for camp so we went, and had friends join us. I feel so blessed to still be friends with someone I have know since first grade. These friends where also high school sweethearts and are still married after 30 years. Wow
My Summer
I have been cleaning my flower bed. Everything was so root bound and grass had gotten in there so it was a big project but done for another how many years... Sorry I didn't take a photo of the finished project it took 3 days to complete.

The Weekend
My Garden is Producing
I picked my first batch of peas on Thursday the 29th. I planted snow peas for the first time also and they are doing well. Picked enough beans for a meal, and my first zucchini on the 1st. The forecast high today was 70 but at 3:00 it was only 63. Just need a little heat.
Weekend Fun
Rain Rain Go Away
Every night this week after coming home from work there has been rain. It is such a mixed blessing. The prairie is beautiful. The cool wet temperatures are not the best for growing vegetables. Look at the Sunflowers it could freeze in a month will they every grow enough to bloom? But isn't the prairie beautiful? My weeds are growing best of all, while I am inside staying dry. It could be a drought and that is bad also. Gardeners and farmers are we ever happy with the weather?
