New Library

I am blessed to have a handyman for a husband. I take it for granted that he can take on any project on my list, and he can! Here is the latest of his work. This room has been a bedroom and an office but now it is my library and I could not be more please.

First to clean everything out of this room that had become the "catch all" room

Two coats of primer, and two of color

The finished project!

So Many to Choose from

January means seed catalogs. The hope of new life, the end of winter. I have received a lot of seed catalogs! The first thing I need to do is make a list of what I want to plant. Second thing is do an inventory of what seeds I have. Then what will grow with in the number of days I have, very important. The "rule of thumb" around here is not to plant flowers out side until after Memorial Day. You can plant your seeds before that because they have to germinate, they aren't going to do anything until the ground warms up. I have seen it snow the end of August. Last year and praise God for it we didn't have a killing frost until September 18, June had been so cold nothing wanted to grow. With that said this is my time frame.

Zone 3
Average dates the last frost - 1 May to 31 May
Average dates first frost - 1 September to 30 September

The other thing I am concerned about is where do these seed come from? I don't want to buy seeds that have come from Monsanto, but how do I know? I found this post helpful

I am going to buy as many Heirloom seeds as possible. Heirloom tomato seeds for sure. I plan to tri several types of tomatoes because my Man is building me a tomato house!
